Got Questions?
Frequently Asked Questions
- 1. Which Stripe report should I export?
- The “Balance change from activity” report, itemized, from Reports → Balance. It includes gross, fees, net, and payouts. The Payments export doesn't include payouts or fee breakdowns, so it cannot be reconciled.
- 2. Is my data uploaded to your server?
- No. The file is parsed and converted completely in your browser. Our server only records that a conversion happened (row count and date range) so we can count credits.
- 3. Why split fees into separate lines?
- So your Profit & Loss statement shows true gross revenue and your Stripe processing fees as an operating expense. Recording only net bank deposits understates both revenue and expenses.
- 4. Where do I import it in QuickBooks?
- We recommend creating a bank-type account in QuickBooks Online called “Stripe Clearing”, then going to Banking → Upload transactions → choose that account. Categorize Stripe payouts as transfers to your real business bank account.
- 5. What if my file has more than 1,000 rows?
-
QuickBooks has a 1,000-row limit on CSV imports. We split large files automatically into import-ready parts (e.g.
part1of3.csv) and package them in a ZIP with aREADME.txtshowing the exact import order. - 6. Does it work with QuickBooks Desktop?
- It is specifically built and formatted for QuickBooks Online. Many QuickBooks Desktop users import standard CSV files, but we don't officially support Desktop IIF files yet.
- 7. Can I convert multiple currencies?
- Yes, pick one currency per conversion. In QuickBooks, each bank account holds a single currency.
- 8. What is your refund policy?
- If the conversion fails or your file does not import into QuickBooks, email us at support@getpayoutprep.com within 14 days for a full, no-questions-asked refund.
